Throw a Coin Mutations Guide
Every Throw a Coin mutation — Big, Huge, Rainbow, Astral, Divine multipliers, visuals, and how to obtain each tier.
Play on RobloxMutations are special item modifiers in Throw a Coin that multiply sell value and change appearance. Update 3 (July 18, 2026) made mutations a core income system alongside Luck Multiplier and Value Multiplier. This guide lists every reported mutation tier, how to obtain them, and when to sell versus merge duplicates.
Some mutations drop naturally when the fountain rolls loot. Others — especially Divine — require the Mutation Machine near the Worlds portal. The Luckyducky code also grants a Divine Rubber Duck directly through the Shop codes section.
All mutation tiers and value multipliers
Community guides and player testing report five mutation tiers as of July 2026. Exact multipliers may shift with balance patches — always confirm sell prices in-game before vending high-tier mutations.
- Big — Larger item size, modest value increase over base item
- Huge — Even larger size, higher sell multiplier than Big
- Rainbow — Color-cycling visual effect, approximately 12× base sell value
- Astral — Purple cosmic appearance with large size, approximately 25× base sell value
- Divine — Rarest tier, approximately 120× base sell value, Mutation Machine or codes only
Natural fountain mutations
Every fountain throw has a random chance to produce a mutated item instead of the standard version. Naturally obtainable mutations reported in July 2026 guides include Big, Huge, Rainbow, and Astral. Divine does not appear from fountain rolls — you need the Mutation Machine or a promo code like Luckyducky.
Higher Luck Multiplier and better coin tiers improve your chance of rolling mutations, but they remain RNG. Do not sell every mutated drop immediately — check whether you already hold duplicates for the Mutation Machine.
Mutation Machine upgrades
The Mutation Machine merges two to four copies of the same item — ideally with matching mutations — into a single stronger mutated variant. Submitting four copies reportedly increases odds of rolling a higher tier. Merging four already-mutated items can produce upgrades up to Divine.
Read our Mutation Machine guide for location, fees, timers, and merge strategy. Pair machine sessions with Value Multiplier upgrades so merged items sell for maximum cash.
Mutations versus regular selling
Early game players should still sell commons without mutations to fund Luck upgrades. Mid game onward, hold matching duplicate sets instead of vending them individually. A Rainbow or Astral duplicate set merged to Divine can outperform hours of raw fountain grinding.
The Item Index on the left HUD grants luck bonuses when you collect item size variants — mutations help fill index thresholds faster when you keep merged results instead of selling everything.
